The P3 building on the Portalp Campus achieves BREEAM “Very Good” certification
As soon as the project to expand the Portalp Campus at the end of 2021 was launched, Portalp’s management decided to base the construction of the new building on the principles of sustainable development. With the support of Saint-Egrève-based general building and civil engineering contractor SBI, a dossier was put together to obtain official recognition of this approach: BREEAM « Very Good » certification.
Portalp’s aim was not only to bring together the production centre, development centre and training centre on the same site, but also to create a sustainable, energy-efficient and environmentally-friendly working environment.
Following completion of the works in spring 2023, it took several months to receive this prestigious award: « Very Good » certification, issued by the UK’s Building Research Establishment.
This certification is based on an overall assessment of buildings in a number of areas, such as reducing the environmental impact of the building’s construction, management, comfort, health, energy and air quality, with the aim of promoting environmentally-friendly construction throughout its life cycle.
In addition to its excellent energy performance, the building contributes to the well-being of its employees and teams in training from the French branches and European subsidiaries: optimal thermal and acoustic comfort, generous natural light and interior spaces designed to encourage a variety of activities.
